Jim Harper is 28 years old and lives in the United Kingdom. After trying to pass himself off as an academic he turned his hand to freelance writing, preparing spoken word biographies of musical artists, mostly ones that he hated. Supplementing his meager income with various reviewing jobs, Jim began to write his first book, a study of slasher movies called Legacy of Blood. Miraculously the manuscript found a publisher, encouraging him to start work on a second book. While trying to avoid fast-encroaching deadlines, he continues to supply reviews and articles to anyone that will accept them. He rates John Carpenter as his favorite director and thinks Battle Royale should be compulsory school viewing.
